Yuletide 2023 Letter
Yuletide
Dear creator,
It’s been a while since I did any exchanges, but I’m really excited for Yuletide this year. A couple notes:
- My prompts are here as a guide, definitely don’t feel beholden to them.
- The length of ramble or prompts is not in any way indicative of my passion for the canon, just my own creativity towards those canons haha
This letter is long, but it’s also very loose. I’m easily pleased and open to most things. If it’s not listed here, try me on it. I’m always happy to experiment with topics I don’t normally read.
A note on art treats: I’m very open to them, but haven’t included anything specific here. My past letters have general art likes listed, if you want to check them out!
Thanks so much!! Hope you have fun!

All of the below are non-exhaustive lists to illustrate what I like in some of my broader likes — but feel free to go off-script if you think it’ll fit a ship well. As long as it doesn’t hit my DNWs, I’m pretty open!

I’m okay with either come/cum as spelling and with pussy, cunt or vagina as terminology for vaginas.
Other kinks that work with my prompts are fine! I haven’t listed everything I like. My DNW list captures all the things I know I don’t like, but basically, for everything else: try me.

Hip Hop RPF
Characters: Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion
Tag: “My gift must feature all of my chosen character tags (if 0: any from tag set)"
Ships: Cardi/Megan, Megan/Dua Lipa, Cardi/Megan/Dua
Damn, these two are so hot and so hot together. I’m more interested in hyper-real/fictional accounts of them (i.e. scenarios from their music videos or placing them into fictional AUs), but I’m open to more grounded RPF if that’s closer to your interests (and have included at least one prompt for that). I’m much more familiar with Megan Thee Stallion’s persona, but I’ve just started getting into Cardi B’s non-collab work and I love her too.
Because Megan is a horror nerd, as am I, I’ve put a few horror AUs into the prompts.
Possible Prompts:
- Pure smut. I’m always open for pure smut, but especially for these two
- Cardi & Megan team up to surgically fuck with a man, a la Megan’s Thot Shit video
- Place Cardi B into the world in the Sweetest Pie music video
- Slasher AU where they are the Final Girls (or the slashers?! OR both?!)
- Vampire or werewolf AU
- A scenario in a music video turns into real sex backstage
- One of them gets possessed
- They attend a seance, weird shit starts to happen
- Fpreg!
- There’s some ghosts in this house, there’s some ghosts in this house…
I’m still pretty new to RPF so not the best at prompting for it, but hopefully there’s something here or in my general/smut likes! If not, go wild and I’m happy to follow.
Green Room
Where to Find This Canon:
1 hr 34 min film; available for free (with ads) on Tubi; streaming on Prime in Canada
Characters: Pat; Amber
Tag: “My gift must feature one or more of my chosen character tags (giver's choice)"
Ships: Any!
This film was a huge surprise for me. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time and I love how tightly plotted it is. The tension is exquisite. We get to know all the characters mostly when they are in the most extreme of circumstances, and I think there’s so much room to explore here.
I chose these two characters because they get the most screen time and so I’m most interested in them. But if you want to deep dive into another character, feel free to have them in the background or some such.
Possible Prompts:
- Character study into any of the characters, either within the timeline of the movie or before/after
- What happens after the movie ends?
- A year later, do Amber and Pat meet to honour the anniversary? Are they still in touch or not?
- If they aren’t still in touch, what happens when they accidentally run into each other at a gig?
- Sliding Doors-style AU where they make different choices
- Amber was there when the murder took place; I’d love to hear more about it
- Sex just before you think you’re gonna die
- It’s not just Nazis here; they’re channelling something supernatural/Eldritch too
- X Character Lives AU, with X being the character you wish had lived (either as well as or instead of a surviving character)
- Epistolary, with online discussion in true crime spaces or podcast transcripts with theories on what happened
- Amber or Pat are haunted by someone who died that night, either figuratively or literally
- Time loops! How do they escape it? Who realises it’s happening?
Men
Where to Find This Canon:
1 hr 40 min film; streaming on Prime in Canada
Characters: Harper Marlowe
Tag: “My gift must feature all of my chosen character tags (if 0: any from tag set)"
Ships: Harper/Vicar; Harper/James; Harper/anyone really
Well, this film sure is a trip. It starts kind of weird and then just gets weirder and weirder. While it’s not the most subtle of movies, I really love so much of the content. The body horror at the end is also the most intense body horror I’ve ever witnessed. Disgusting and compelling.
I really love Harper. She’s been through so much, but we see the lengths she’ll go to to survive in the end. I love how the final moments of the climax are largely off-screen, and the way that the movie ends is catnip to me.
Possible Prompts:
- Character study of Harper, either during the film or after
- James’ funeral
- Harper thinks she’s escaped, but she’s wrong; there’s no escape
- Online discussions or podcast transcripts for people discussing what happened at that house
- The scene in the bathroom with the Vicar was so hot to me; noncon or any kind of expounding on that scene would be great
- Time loops of the final climax, with Harper getting more and more exhausted
- Haunted by that trip and her husband’s death, Harper can’t tell if something bad has started happening again or if it’s all in her head
- Harper doesn’t just kill the Men; she gets her revenge by burning down that whole fucking town
- More body horror weirdness
- More weird incidents from that trip that we didn’t see
The Writing Retreat - Julia Bartz
Where to Find This Canon:
Book,
Characters: Wren; Taylor; Roza Vallo; Alex
Tag: “My gift must feature one or more of my chosen character tags (giver's choice)"
Ships: Any F/F pairing between anyone in the book is GREAT. OT3/4/5/whatever is also a good time.
This thriller was so fucking unhinged. I went in with 0 expectations and was thoroughly entertained by how ridiculous it got. I loved it! The unexpected gay content was also such a treat. I love how messy and pretentious so many of the characters are. I also just love the whole premise. It really went places.
Possible Prompts:
[Coming soon!]
Detective Grimoire
Where to Find This Canon:
- Detective Grimoire (2.5 hours approx.) is available via iOS, Android or Steam
- Tangle Tower (4 hours approx.) is available via Apple Arcade, Steam or Nintendo Switch
DNW specific to this canon: Sally/Detective Grimoire (I like their friendship, but I’m not into them as a romantic ship!)
Characters: Sally Spear
Tag: “My gift must feature all of my chosen character tags (if 0: any from tag set)"
Ships: Sally/Penelope
I’m really fond of these games, especially Tangle Tower, which is just lovely. The art style is so pretty and I love a good conspiracy of rich people, plus impossible cases! Tangle Tower in particular felt like playing a Jonathan Creek episode, and as a big fan of those, it scratched a good itch.
I’m not hugely interested in Grimoire and Sally as a romantic pair, but I am happy to see either shipped with anyone else, of any gender, either in the game or new characters. However, I have a few prompts that refer to them getting romantically tangled and it not working it out, which I’m very up for! Equally, sexual tension between them that gets resolved by realising, when they try to do something about it, that they aren’t actually into it, is always great fun.
Also, since mysteries are a bugger and a half to write, if you go in that direction, please feel free to pastiche other detective shows, even if I’m requested/written them before. I’m a serial rewatcher of shows like Agatha Christie’s Marple, Jonathan Creek and Columbo, so seeing the same mystery twice is never a problem.
Quick prompts: New cases! How they became partners! Missing stories from their investigation at Tangle Tower! More exploration of the society Penelope belonged to! Crossovers!
Possible Prompts:
- New cases (whether original or AUs from other mystery canons, such as any Christies or Jonathan Creek etc.)
- How did Sally go from a suspect to Grimoire’s closest aide?
- What were the early cases like between them?
- Penelope kidnaps Sally
- Untold stories from Tangled Tower
- PWP between Penelope & Sally (maybe dubcon or noncon? Or sex before Sally knows the truth + the dramatic irony of the reader knowing Sally is getting in over her head…)
- Penelope escapes and they have to track her down
- Hurt/comfort after Sally gets hurt on the job
- Crossover with other canons (maybe The Ten Thousand Doors January; any Dimension 20 season; Stardew Valley; Hilda; Pretty Little Liars?! Or anything I’ve previously requested, if you go to my letters tag in my journal)
- A mystery in SPACE
- Something seems mundane, but turns out to be supernatural
Fractured Fables - Alix E. Harrow
Where to Find This Canon:
- A Spindle Splintered by Alix E. Harrow (119 pages)
- A Mirror Mended by Alix E. Harrow (128 pages)
Characters: Zinnia Gray; Charm; Worldbuilding
Tag: “My gift must feature one or more of my chosen character tags (giver's choice)"
Ships: Zinnia/Charm; Zinnia/Evil Queen; Charm/Briar Rose; Zinnia/Briar Rose; Zinnia/Charm/Briar Rose; basically any f/f pairing in this whole series is good for me
Fairytale retellings in professional/published fiction is not usually my bag, but for some reason, the Fractured Fables duology grabbed me by the throat and hasn’t let me go. It’s so funny and refreshing and delightful. I love Zinnia’s spunk (and how obstinate and self-destructive she can be). I love her friendship with Charm; I like Charm individually too, that she gets to be more than the girl who is trying to help her friend. The whole cast is great.
I also love the concept; both the resonance needed to jump into fairytales, but also that the veil between reality and fairytale is razor-thin. I think there’s a lot of room here for world building — whether that be finding out the stories from people in other fairytales or building out the dimension hopping aspects.
Possible Prompts:
- Charm is adopted, so does creating resonance for her cause her to jump into a fairytale about adoption (Cinderella, perhaps?)
- Space Sleeping Beauty seemed cool as fuck, tell me more about her
- Someone enters Zinnia & Charm’s reality from another fairytale — are they someone trying to help/needing help, or a an antagonist who wants destruction?
- Accidentally bodyswapping with your friend (or fairytale counterpart)
- Faux-academic studies of the ways the hopping between stories has been experimented with
- Can you change a fairytale so much that it alters other fairytales so that they’ll resonate with the new version?
- More about people, like the old fairy (I lent my copies of these books to a friend and now can’t check her name, aaaahh), who turn up in multiple stories
- Is it just fairytales, or are there other types of stories that cause problems?
- Zinnia is pining to be in Charm & Briar Rose’s relationship; she doesn’t realise it’s mutual
- A traveller’s guide to what to pack if you want to move through stories
- Someone needs to metaphorically (or literally) step on Zinnia (the Evil Queen or anyone else!)
