Dear creator,

I’m so happy it’s Chocolate Box time again! I’ve been looking forward to this for way too long :D

First and foremost: my prompts are here as a guide, but do not feel beholden to them. If something else from my likes takes your interest (or there’s something not on my DNWs that you’d think I’d like even if I haven’t explicitly requested it), please feel free to go for it! Past letters are also full of prompts for some of these pairings, but please only use this letter for my DNWs as they have changed a bit and I’ve come to enjoy stuff I didn’t used to.

Secondly, length of ramble and amount of prompts is not in any way indicative of anything but how verbose I was feeling on the day I wrote them, as I chipped away at this letter for weeks. Some prompts/canons also just felt like they needed more explaining!

Thirdly: I’m still not as good at art prompts as I’d like, but I’ve done my best to include a handful for each canon. But again, if there’s anything from my likes (both the general ones + art) or from my fic prompts that work for you, please go for it!

Art Likes

I like a wide variety of art! Yeah, very helpful, I know, but I really do! Bold colours, black & white/greyscale, jewel tones, dark neons, pixel art etc.

I love interesting compositions and perspectives, and shots that feel like the characters were caught in the moment — intimacy, basically. I really like dark and angsty or intimate and intense vibes, or any kind of creeping dread or tentative atmospheres.

I love size differences emphasised in less traditional ways: the larger partner kneeling in front of the smaller one; big muscular women with huge hands clutching their smaller partner; small love interests threatening their bigger partner etc. But I also like the traditional ways too, with men with large hands holding their smaller partner, people leaning down to kiss their partner, the smaller person up on tip toes to kiss their partner etc. etc.

Size difference isn’t all I like, though! I also like intimacy in all its forms (sexual or non-sexual), interesting lighting, things that look both dangerous and sexy, anyone kneeling for anything, hand-holding (in any circumstance, but especially in sex), blood, characters who can’t bare to look at the person giving them pleasure, torture scenes, and anything that shows angst. Small moments of intimacy captured in larger stories is nice. Hurt/comfort is always, always a winner. Interpretive scenes are cool as hell. But also, I don’t know dick about art, so whatever you think is best probably is!

I don’t have specific art-related DNWs. Any rating is fine, also.

I hope my prompts below are useful for comics-based stories too, but as I’m still pretty new to prompting for art, take whatever liberties you want to. You know better what works than I do!

The Folk of the Air - Holly Black

Where to Find This Canon:
3 books: The Cruel Prince (385 pages), The Wicked King (369 pages) and The Queen of Nothing (321 pages), for a total of 1,075 pages.
There is also supplemental material in the form of a novelette and a novella, respectively: The Lost Sisters (from Taryn’s perspective, 49 pages) and How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories (post-canon, Cardan’s POV, 138 pages), but neither are necessary to understand the canon.
All page counts approximate and based on ebooks. The audiobooks for all are great too.

I adore this canon so much. It feels sometimes like Holly Black might have cracked my brain open and read all the secrets my id keeps. I love how hellbent the characters are to get what they want, the self-loathing, the self-destruction, the messiness, the cruelty of the fae, the bad choices, the self-protection, the loyalty, the magic, the fae/mortal alienness…actually, there’s not a whole bunch that I don’t love. Holly Black has the direct line to my id and I am here for it.

For Jude/Cardan, I have a particular soft spot for Cruel Prince-era Jude/Cardan, when the loathing (and self-loathing) is at its highest, and Wicked King, when Jude has power of him and they have such an uneasy truce (and also the hottest sex scene. "I hate you, I hate you, I hate you." uuuugh my heart), but Queen of Nothing-era and post-canon (inc. alternatives that diverge from the novella) are very much welcome! I have no preferences for canon periods with Taryn/Nicasia, it’s all equally enticing.

Below are prompts, but feel free to have a look through my any of old letters; there are a lot of prompts to be found for both pairings (but please only use DNWs from this letter!).

Whatever strikes you, you go for it, but I have provided prompts below in case you want them! But honestly, I’ll eat anything you have for them up with a spoon.

Lady Danbury is my favourite Bridgerton character — and the little interaction we get between she and Benedict, when she teases him for making a fool out of himself in front of the artist set my shippy heart alight.

So Lady Danbury is probably my favourite character, and her little interaction where she teases Benedict over the art mishap was enough for my shippy little heart. I want to see them flirt up a storm, maybe have a few rendezvous (because Danbury is long past caring about propriety), maybe accidentally develop a few feelings. All the while Danbury teases the heck out of Benedict, and he’s all flustered and artistic and shit. It doesn’t help that Lady Danbury is gorgeous and funny and Benedict is such a loveable fop, or that I love older woman/younger man scenarios.

Plus, who doesn’t love all those outfits? Speaking of which: I don’t care either way about historical accuracy. If it’s something you care about? Go for it! But if not, you get on with your anachronisms, I swear I won’t notice. That includes any outfits for art — the show didn’t mind on that front and nor do I. If you want to stick with the fashion from canon, I love that, but I’m also open to you putting your own flair (or, if you do care about this stuff, making it accurate!).

For art (and fic, I suppose!), please keep Lady Danbury black. If you want to go with a race headcanon for Benedict, though, feel free.

I’m down with however you want to handle canonical partners (be it infidelity, break ups, open relationships, ignoring them), but I do like the idea of both these characters being bisexual if it comes up.

Possible Prompts:
- PWP is always welcome for these two! But especially character-heavy PWP.
- Crossdressing, from either of them.
- Lady Danbury becomes Benedict’s patron.
- Zombie AU regency fun?
- Benedict staying with Lady Danbury to care for her after she falls ill/injures herself.

I love all these characters with all my heart, and, with my dissatisfaction with the last film, it fuelled a fire in me to want to see more from them!! For all characters, digging into their flaws, the messiness in their relationships, the pining and angst, that’s all extremely good for me.

I’m not a huge fan of TROS and prefer not to go with Rey Palpatine but if you want to do something fun or unexpected with her Palpatine lineage, you go for it. I’m also open to canon divergence of all kinds — including [x character] lives or [x character] dies AUs.

I love Rey’s fearless determination, I love Ben/Kylo’s absolute garbage pile of angsty feelings, I love Rose’s cutthroat compassion and Hux’s tremendous pettiness. This is me reducing them down to absolute minimum, but I love all aspects of these characters — their good and bad qualities! Dig in however you want, show me your interpretation of them or their relationships, I’m ready to follow you!

Also, for this request, I am happy for poly relationships with any requested characters, in any combination, or including Phasma, Finn or Poe in any requested ships!

Ahhhh okay so I never expected this ship. Then season 4 came along and just completely threw me headfirst into shipping them like burning. The kiss was, for starters, so good, but the almost-kiss in the kitchen earlier that episode? Superb! Him talking to her in Korean? UGH.

So obviously I was a little heartbroken that Season 5 brushes it all under the rug, with just one mention of it do want to dig into it, I am interested in "bisexuals with pining for a different-gender character feels invalidated by their own pining" as a plot point. The messiness inherent in coming out but then going for a guy is something I’m always interested in. But again, you do not need to go there at all — here coming to terms with her bisexual and feeling valid, her having already come out in the timeline etc. All that is fine!)

I really love the rest of the Kim family, and if you want to explore Umma’s health concerns, feel free to include that. I also like Chelsea in all her obnoxiousness, and don’t mind how you handle that: a few prompts suggest breaking her up, but if you want to keep it complicated and a little suspect on the whole fidelity front, that’s okay by me too.

There is precious little fic for them, so I will go wild for whatever you want to write for them.

This show scratches every itch inside my brain, that’s the only way I can put it. It’s hilarious and dark and amazing and just full of people trying their best and making terrible, terrible choices. The way that every time they try to do something right, they only bring themselves closer to having everything fall apart. I feel like I leave every episode feeling both devastated and delighted. (Also I am shallow and everyone in this canon is just so pretty, my god.)

Jen unable to move without screeching after pulling her back out while telling Ben she’s FINE and she doesn’t need help!!! is everything I love about her. She’s such a fucking hardass, just complete metal exterior with a soft delicate centre she has to protect with her life. I want to see how hard that exterior really is >)

And then Judy. Judy! Judy is all that soft gooey exterior, is all that “vulnerability as a shield”, is trying so, so hard to be the best she can be even if she keeps fucking it up. Annnnnd that’s the reason I wanna see her be thumped to hell and back :3 Or get all the good things!! I want both, maybe one after another, or maybe one without the other. Dealer’s choice!!

Their bond together is wonderful, the lengths they’ll go to for each other!! What a terrible, codependent, beautiful, ride or die relationship! They doom each other as much as they save each other <33

I love Jen with Michelle too! Way more than I expected. That they are kindred spirits, who love to cook, who believe in all that woo together, who circumstances keep them apart!! I love how quickly they fall for each other (Judy’s “I love you!” to the closed door after their FIRST DATE!!) and, yes, I like the heartbreak of requited love that is pulled apart.

I didn’t expect to also enjoy Jen/Ben, but I actually kind of do? Because I didn’t finish the show before noms, I didn’t get a chance to nom any poly ships for this request, but: any configuration of Jen, Judy, Michelle and Ben are totally welcome. Hell, if you can find a way to throw Steve into the mix, I’d be up for that also. But I also very, very, very much want Jen/Judy and Judy/Michelle, with no poly elements!

Side characters are welcome too! I love Abe (;_;), Karen, Nick, Officer Perez, Jen’s kids, Eileen, Heidi, Parker… I love them all, and I also love, love, love what a small world it is for them.

Possible Prompts:
- PWP of any kind. Hate sex, under negotiated kink, comfort sex, sweet reunion sex, tearful goodbye sex, pining while fucking, complicated feelings sex, rough sex, drunk sex, car sex…just whatever you want. Add some sex to the canon for either of these pairings, I will be happy I promise.
- Speaking of which, this is my one DNW exception to rimming, because these lines set something off inside me: “Eat my fucking butthole, Judy.” “I would but I’m seeing someone.” So like…have Judy eat some ass. Please and thank you.
- Fic in mixtape? I feel like it would work really well for this canon, especially Judy making a mixtape for Michelle or Judy.
- Physical injury, especially anything requiring bandaging — including post-S2 hurt/comfort.
- Judy has another miscarriage, either Michelle or Jen are there to comfort.

- Time loops on the day Steve dies or the day of the car crash or the day in the hospital with Michelle. Or, tbh, any other time!

I love these two idiots so much <3 The whole canon is wonderful, but their dynamic, ugh it’s absolute catnip to me. I love how much we get to see Fabian grow, but I’m happy for any era Fabian. I love him in all forms! And Riz is so much fun, such a little anxious nerd.

I prefer for Riz’s sexuality to be that he is a late bloomer or demisexual. As my DNW implies, I’m not interested in aroace Riz for this request.

I love how much they want to impress each other (even if Fabian wouldn’t admit it), how obvious the devotion, care and loyalty is between them, how difficult it is for either of them to actually talk about their emotions (well, Fabian’s gotten better but), how well they know each other! And how annoying they find each other, that’s also very charming. The way they grew over S2 was also delightful.

I just…yeah. I just need these two to be cute little idiots together. Or angsty little idiots. Just, some flavour of idiot in love!

One-sided or unrequited attraction is fine for any of these, as is "they think it’s unrequited but it’s actually mutual". Any kind of ending (happy, ambiguous, bleak etc.) are all fine and dandy, as is going darker than the canon.

This is a bit of an odd ship but it’s a ship of my heart. I’m a real sucker for Slytherin-Gryffindor relationships, what can I say? I like my Lily to be sure-footed and frank, with a lot of force behind her, but possibly a little naive or inexperienced — or self-destructive and hell-bent. And Lucius is just…yeah, his whole can of worms.

I’m struggling to get into specifics with the blurb here, mostly because there’s a lot of different ways I could see this working and there’s so little content for them, so I’d be really interested in seeing your spin.

Futzing with canon ages to make it easier to get them together (especially so not to hit my under-16 DNW) is absolutely fine, as is messing with the canon timelines. For any of their canon relationships, do what you like with them. Same goes for background pairings! I’m really not picky in that regard.

I prefer one or both of them developing feelings — or, similarly, one of them getting over the other just as the other begins to develop feelings. Any combo is fine, I just don’t want it to be just casual, no-feelings etc.. They can hate their feelings, wish they didn’t have them, try to disguise them, they can be new and blossoming so little understood, they can be mostly feelings of guilt or disgrace etc. as long as there are some feelings of a kind. But I’m also very happy, as always, for you to have only one of them with feelings, to break them up if they do both develop romantic feelings, or it to end tragically or terribly. Given Lucius’ politics, it’s just never going to be great and I am here for all that.

This might be my favourite movie of all time? It’s just gorgeous and heartbreaking and full of pining, terrible pining, and love that can never be truly held in one’s hands. It is everything I want out of a romance — that is to say, it is utterly devastating.

But rewatching it recently made me realise I want more delicious misery and angst in my life. There are scant few fics for this canon, so I will eat anything up with a spoon. But I’m not super interested in happy endings for these two — I could be persuaded otherwise but primarily I want to just see more canon-typical stuff.

Possible Prompts:
- Genderswap so it’s not just forbidden love, it’s forbidden gay love! (F/F or M/M are equally welcome!)
- Missing scenes, rendezvous that are stilted and full of pining and attempts (and failures) at self-control. Perhaps more terrible interruptions?

- One of them sees the other and the other has come to the conclusion it was a silly dalliance and not true love at all.
- Incorporating the plot of this film into any of my other canons is also more than welcome.

THIS SHOW though!! What the hell. Not only is it amazing, but it’s basically tailor-made to my id. Murdery teenage girls, ritual cannibalism, self-destructive characters attempting to hide their trauma (and having it all spill out), 40+ women with tense and complicated friendships filled with trauma they can’t talk about, codependency, survival, blurring of supernatural & reality…I don’t know. There’s so much here!! That’s not even getting the present day mystery, all of Misty’s shit, etc. etc. Involved.

Speaking of which: though I have not requested any Laura Lee and Lottie ships this time, I’m more than happy for either of them to appear. Same goes for all other characters in the show. There’s no one I don’t like!

As far as favourite characters, mine has to be Shauna. She’s so hell-bent and furious and self-destructive and keeping her shit together as best she can, and all her shit with comparing herself to Jackie? I don’t know, it’s catnip to me. But Taissa is also fascinating to me (especially with all her blacking out stuff!), Natalie is so so compelling and Misty is a delightful little psychopath.

God, I just love all these women. Please, do what you wish with them because I want it!! Present day or past are both fine. Also, for this request, I’m happy for any poly configurations involving any of the requested characters, or Laura Lee and Lottie.

Obviously, the show is still airing! Things are likely to change between now and the finale, which is airing during the writing period. As far as that goes: run riot. Use whatever you want from future episodes, spin off what-ifs about whatever the finale presents us with, or diverge from canon wildly, use images or symbolism that only appear in the last few episodes etc. etc.. Whatever you want to do, it’s an active canon and I’m here for any and all of it.

Okay, hear me out: two delightful little psychopaths meet up at some point. Fuck with their ages however you want to make that work, or play with the older woman/younger woman vibe. Misty is obviously a lot uhhh a lot more like Mona when Mona is hooked on the game, and has fewer moments of lucidity. But they have a similar total commitment to the absolute insanity of their own internal logic, and have the means to get any info they want. And you can’t tell me Mona wouldn’t react in the exact same practical manner that Misty did to crashing (perhaps without so much box smashing, but I’m not sure about that).

Plus, they like spying on their friends in incredibly invasive ways and drugging people. It’s a match made in heaven :D

You can see my rambling about Yellowjackets above! For Pretty Little Liars, it’s one of my forever fandoms. I love those girls with all my heart, but especially Mona. I love the mystery and horror aspects so much, but I particularly love the relationship between the girls. Including any other Yellowjackets or PLL characters is great if you want to!
