Dear genderswapper,

This is a very short letter once you get past my likes and whatnot, mostly because I’m pretty much open to anything here—and a lot of my requests are just, "I think this would be neat!" more than anything. Please feel free to pillage anything from my general, art or smut likes, or from any past letters, of which there is at least one for all but one of these requests (sorry about that; it’s my first time requesting The Wicker King—but feel free to use prompts from other canons nonetheless if you need them!).

Any genre, any endings. I have a little bit more about my general preferences for Rule 63 stories below. But basically otherwise, go for it and I’m sure I’ll be very happy! I’m easy to please :D

Rule 63 Ramblings

Some thoughts on R63:
- Seeing art of what they might look like as a different gender is a lot fun (do they wear the same outfits? That’s hot! Is their outfit altered for their new gender? Also very hot!!)

- Also, keeping tall men as tall women and short women as short men is *chef’s kiss*, the fucking best. There are not enough tall women or short men out there.

- Characters, where it makes sense, keeping the same names. Where it doesn’t, changing it to something either similar or that makes sense for the world. "Where it makes sense" is up to you—I actually am fine with, say, a female Benedict, but Benedicta is also good with me, as is any era-appropriate name.

- I like seeing how the canon world’s attitudes towards a character changes with their gender, and the attitudes of other characters, while keeping the character substantially the same.

- Having said that, do you think X trait a character possesses would manifest differently if they were socialised as another gender? Please go out on a limb and show that, I’m all for that!

- Crossdressing is fun :D Gender fuckery in general is fun.

- As a blanket thing, if writing smut, any level of consent is welcome as long as it abides by my DNWs.

- A/B/O could be really fun in these situations?!

- I’m not opposed to trans headcanons if that’s what you want to do, as long as it isn’t the primary focus of the story (i.e. having top surgery scars = great! Having a story focused around someone’s coming out as trans = not what I want out of this exchange).

- Regardless of trans identity, I’m happy for characters to have any genitals if you so desire it.

Things sometimes considered "opt-in" that I enjoy: mentioned past relationships or background ships, major character death, experimental formats inc. interactive fiction, pregnancy*, miscarriage, abortion, graphic violence, sad or ambiguous endings, pandemics, suicide, self-harm, ships breaking up or one/both of them dying (or killing each other)

Extra special note on pregnancy: I used to DNW breeding kink, but, as sometimes happens, what once was a big squick is now something I enjoy for my ships! So please ignore any previous mentions in the past about it that might have asked it to steer away from breeding. It’s now absolutely on the table! Non-breeding-kink-related pregnancy in fiction is also awesome and well-loved! Whatever you like, it’s no longer a needle to thread. My only sticking point is that if you want to write m/m breeding kink, it should not result in mpreg but should instead stay within the realm of dirty talk.

All of the below are non-exhaustive lists to illustrate what I like in some of my broader likes — but feel free to go off-script if you think it’ll fit a ship well. As long as it doesn’t hit my DNWs, I’m pretty open!

Art Likes

I like a wide variety of art! Yeah, very helpful, I know, but I really do! Bold colours, black & white/greyscale, jewel tones, dark neons, pixel art etc.

I love interesting compositions and perspectives, and shots that feel like the characters were caught in the moment — intimacy, basically. I really like dark and angsty or intimate and intense vibes, or any kind of creeping dread or tentative atmospheres.

A smattering of ideas, that goes for all ships, where appropriate:

- Kissing - on mouths, along jaws, hands/fingers, on ears, thighs, wrists, the delicate skin on the inside of the elbow etc. etc. Wherever lips can touch, I like to see kisses *_*

There are so many ways that gender intersects with their characterisations that I would like to see more of. For M!Jude, is he treated differently because of his maleness—all of the downtrodden mortals we see in this world as female, so I feel it must make some difference? What about with Cardan or Locke?

For F!Cardan, does Balekin treat her differently? How does her cruelty come off? Also, for changing Jude/Cardan to F/F or M/M, is it the first time for same sex attraction for either of them? For M/F, does it change the balance at all for them to swap genders?

F!Locke just seems kind of hot to me, and I am but a shallow recip.

Hamilton

Being a woman would radically change the way either Hamilton or Burr were received. I love the desperate bitter pining of Burr in a femslash scenario. For het, I just think it’d be interesting to see that bitter rivalry for someone who has substantially less social power than himself and how it manifests given the sexual politics of it all.

Yes.

Gender is so important in the world of PLL, and so I’m interested in how it looks when fucked with. For the M/M pairings in particular, how does their status both within Rosewood and to each other change for those gender configs? For the OT3s, I would love to see Caleb as a woman, and to have the same rough backstory.

Finally, I am not usually an Ezra/Aria fan, but make it F/F, and suddenly my interest is piqued. I’m interested in both the relationship itself, and also maybe how people’s reactions might be different if ever discovered.

I love their whole codependent, enabling relationship, and I think I’d like it just as much (maybe more?!) if F/F. I’m also open to the OT3 from the books! I also like the idea of only Jack as a woman, and keeping August’s worship of her. In either case, I wonder how the world might look at them differently if Jack is a woman doing the hallucinating and engaging in that erratic behaviour.

DCU

My preference for this ship is usually for it to be uneven, and for Edward to be kind of pine-y. But by genderswapping Edward, I’m open for it being mutual—either way is great for F/F. I like most runs for Edward, in terms of characterisation, but look, I won’t lie, slightly (or very) pathetic woman!Riddler does appeal to my id deeply.
